There are many bus stops along the way if you want to chicken
out of the great walk. The bus actually drives through several stretches of
the walk which might just be the answer to speeding up the journey. There is
also a 50 km bicycle tour which mainly circles the city.
The cycling enthusiast will enjoy the many sights that Auckland
has to offer and it starts of at Tamaki Drive and continues to Saint Helliers,
and up over Mount Wellington which has got unbelievable views, and it then leads
you on to Western Springs and that is before you return to the Waterfront via
Ponsonby and trendy Grey Lynn.
This will take you a full day, but this trip also involves stopping
at pubs and cafes along the route to make the day more enjoyable. The route
is very popular and there are even blue signs around the city to mark the route
out for you, just in case you take a wrong turn.
